The Mycorrhizal Network and the Relationship of Seedlings

Can the mother tree recognize its own seedlings? Is this a system of kind of patronage or is this a maternal nurturing? It was a question that we asked if these old trees provide seed to the community around them. We took those experiments into the lab and we did them in the field as well. And we grew seedlings that were of full siblings. They could distinguish each other from a stranger seedling.
