There's like this adage in Genre that is that the first line sells your book and the last line sells your next book. I still teach this rule to my kids and call it the Mindy rule. The idea that that we would ask readers to give us 10 pages 20 pages which back in the day was like What else are they gonna do? There's one thing on TV Right, there are five books on the shelf Like they don't have a choice They have choices now. We've got them there hours that first page is the most valuable real estate in your book Yeah, and I think about my first page.
