Radio for the Inuit of Nunavut
FM Radio by and for the Inuit of Nunavut in Enochtitut. Their own language grew out of a struggle for land rights in the 1970s. Negotiating with governments of Quebec and Canada, Inuit representatives would consult with people at home over CB radio. The radio was also a place where hunters could share stories and women swapped tips in a virtual sewing circle.
