Be clustering disadvantage is a way of thinking that people who do relatively badly in one respect shouldn't be doing relatively badly in other respects if we can possibly help that. We make a distinction between what you can call corrosive disadvantages and fertile functionings. A lack of a sense of affiliation or community has tended to go with poor health, poor control over your environment and other undesirable outcomes. If I read your book carefully do you think I'd be more likely to vote Labour than Tory or in the States Democrat rather than Republican? Well it wasn't written specifically for that purpose. It's a book about intervention, social intervention rather than leaving things alone.
