Tyler Cowell: I see what you mean about the value of having a really sharp kind of extreme view, animating effect of altruism. But I also think there's some value lost to that and not taking as seriously deontological constraints might be one of the major things that is a problem for EA. He says he would have thought it's more central to or interesting about EA, the idea that we help in a cost effective way.Cowell: The mushier EA gets,  it will move further from resolution, not closer.
