When we look at this question of data, and the training data that goes the world, there's this tension. So for example, if you were to train a naive simplistic classifier on american presidents, it would naturally predict that a American president has to be male because all previous presidents have been men. But who gets to decide what the model will be is a really important question that ting is asked enough? And so in many ways, i think we we haven't really trained computer scientists and engineers to be thinking about these systems as fundamental social interventions," he says.
