Brian's alter ego, kevin catany, is an amalgam of his experience and that of others he knew at the time. Like to day we are wrapped in this crisis of russia's invasion of ukraine. The spectre of nuclear war hangs over the current crisis and is clearly influencing decision making. In 19 83 uriandropo was a rather paranoid individual who had initiated this operation ryan programme. He was isolated from public opinion which didn't count for anything. So i think there's, there's that similarity.
