The Labor Cabinet and the 1930s
Post-war international monetary order had already been created during the Second World War itself in 1944 at Bretton Woods. That was going to be much more friendly to the kind of, let's just call it, social democratic politics that labor somewhat wanted to do in the 1920s and really wanted todo in the 1940s. So that kind of like threat that labor would be a source of disorder was neutralized amongst people who understood the significance of the international change. But also because the war had shown that labor were a patriotic party, and that they weren't destabilizing factor in British politics.
