It was always going to have to be a deal, says the Labour MP. But it's taken too long for them to recognise that they're going to need more money. They've also been slightly paralysed by the thinking that if we do it further then nurses will feel compelled to strike as many other public sector professions are out on strike. And part of this is the consequence of political chaos over the summer when we basically had a non-existent government and all of the trust period.
