How to Pay Yourself as a Business Owner?
You should pay yourself at least initially 50% of what your business earns. You can have more options like I don't pay into EI, I do pay into CPP. Which is right for you ultimately comes down to personal preference. There's no longer that big difference tax wise between paying a salary and dividends.
