Archbishop Orozco of Guadalajara fled to the hills and went into hiding. He stayed at the homes of poor people in the countryside, which led to some interesting situation. One night while he was using candlelight to read a book, he noticed that a poisonous snake was crawling over his feet. So he froze and waited for the snake to pass on; it eventually did.
