The Importance of Auditory Processing Disorder in Learning
One of the most common diagnoses that's actually often mistaken for ADHD is central auditory processing disorder. This is when we have difficulty kind of distinguishing between what's a speech sound, what's a background noise and different types of speech sounds. People with C.A.P.D. can also struggle to focus in noisy environments like nightclubs or restaurants because all the sounds just get jumbled up in their brains. And so as I said, it's a really common misdiagnosis or it's, yeah, commonly misdiagnosed as ADHD,. Because that individual has difficulty concentrating, focusing, paying attention.
