Follow Sophia Jex-Blake's determined journey to challenge discrimination and pave the way for women to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh, overcoming obstacles and rallying support to establish separate classes and regulations for female medical students.
After studying with Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell in New York, Sophia Jex-Blake moved back to England when her father died. But her determination to get a medical education in the U.K. turned her into an education activist.
