The One Thing I Can't Have Is a Child
Sara was baren. She had no child, and what defines her is what she lacks. God promised abraham innumerable posterity. Why on earth would he marry me when i can't give him that? He's assuming that maybe the seed that god is talking about is this steward in o that's serving in our household. I i will not get in god's way if he is trying to fulfil a promise to my husband. What we see sarai come up with in chapter 16 is a cultural possibility as well. And its plural marriage.
