Isn't It Kind of Tame to Passion?

Sally Kohn: I think it's a really striking feature of your dissertation that you have sort of by way of Nietzsche this really robust deaf defense of the aestheticization of life. She says we habitually and characteristically devalue our passions because they create all these problems for us, but art is what allows us to value them. But in order to actually have a life let's kind of valuable to you because of the role of ambition in it, you then have to be motivated by ambition throughout the rest of your life. You're going to need to sort of go back to art in some ways to sort of refresh your attachment to it to that art will help you value the passion
