Saint John of the Cross and Darkness

For saint john of the cross, darkness is an attachment to what he calls creatures. If people still cling to these affections that they are a sort of wearing, ok, they're not really, at that point, truly incapable of being enlightened by god because god is so pure and simple,. O, they must begin. We caund say with this rejection, ok? There can't be a concordance between light and darkness. The darkness could not receive the light, we are told. Darkness, by its very definition, cannot exist with the light. You can't have one and one and one in the other. Doesn't happen.
