The president offered unlimited funding to go to mars in his first term. He seemed a little bit disappointed about it, so they did have to explain some orbital mechanic stuff to him. They couldn't push back the conversation that they were havingh, with astronaut peggy whitson ause. That's also something i probably wouldn't have known.
