Durosinothrombosis

Durosinothrombosis obstructs venous drainage, leading to increased blood pressure. Caution must be taken in cases of intracranial hypertension which can cause delayed filling of the venous sinus - simulating sinus thrombosis. Giving IV contrast as in CT venography makes it possible to identify a failing defect in the occluded durosinus.
