Seeing When Sensual Desire Is Absent
The Buddha called the luminous mind, that luminosity being the mind free of desire. Desire comes in the form of expectation, desire for something to happen and leaning forward. When we don't recognize when these desires are present, we're simply lost in its distracting energy. If sensual desire is not present, one knows there is no sensual desire in me. This is the conscious act of recognizing the absence of the hindrances.
