How to Reduce Noise Levels in a National Park

When we hear a lot of noise, essentially our ears turn the volume down. The muscles tighten, prevent the sound traveling through as much and we adapt to that loud sound. When we wake up first thing in the morning, when we've had absolute silence, hopefully our ears are at their sharpest. Our hearing will generally be more sensitive after a period of quiet.
