FIFA rep tells them there are another 300,000 people waiting on the streets of Luton. Half the UK population watched the semi-final on TV. Margaret Thatcher has issued a public statement congratulating them for getting so far. It's not just these fans who want to welcome them back - it's the whole country. An open-top bus awaits them outside. Fans climb up every side of the bus to shake hands with the players. They scream hysterically when they touch Paul, as if they're touching God himself.
