Arnie's Observation of an Exoplanet
Giada Arnie, who's at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, has been using models to look at the effects of different hazes on the habitability of a planet. She found that some of these hazes that are really critical to protecting life on the planet require life to actually form the haze as well. If we detected a haze like that on another planet, not only would this allow us to figure out the composition of that atmosphere but it also could point us to life being hidden underneath the haze on its surface.
