Elizabeth Gardner Howell's Death Is Not Part of the Witch Trial

Goodie Garlic was accused of being a witch in East Hampton, New York. Elizabeth Gardner Howell died shortly before the trial and her death is not part of it. The charges tend to be more what we would think of today as pretty standard witchy behaviors of the time. But historian Loretta Orion postulates that they just kind of want to keep the family name out of it. She heard about the story while on a tour of one of the old family properties for the first time. And because the community was very, very small, the Garlics had dealings with everyone but all of them came into focus at this time.
