White Women's Emancipation From Housework From the Home
Black women have a very different history or in relationship with housework given the expectation that during slavery they had to take on both domestic labor and work in the fields. Instead of advocating for a women's domestic labor strike Davis suggests the fight for jobs so they can then unite with other working women whereas housewives are too atomized, she says.
