The Centrality of Al-Qaeda

Al-Qaeda has always been more globally dispersed. Their whole thing is probably the long game. They don't necessarily need to have all of these groups pledge allegiance to them publicly at least or be fully integrated with that al-Qaeda, their command and control network. But we do see indications that the Islamic State due to this pressure has already made some sort of commitments to move leadership more abroad.
