Eel Populations in Europe at a Low Ebb

Europe's eal populations at quite a low ebb. Almost all the continent eels are concentrated on the atlantic coast. At moment, 60 % of eels caught in europe have to be used for re stocking. Many are flown from france to the baltic sea where they would benefit from the lack of competition. But studies have shown that they struggle to exit and swim southwest as if they were still in France. Could also have led biologists to search in the wrong places.
