Road trip movies are comedies. In a comedy you can have coincidences as long as they're funny. Michael Myers just shows up. That doesn't, the coincidence. It's forgiven if it's funny. And then the guy punches Neil out. He falls on the ground and who almost hits it with the car? That's Dell. A lot of coincidence. Biggest, egregious coincidence of the whole movie is that moment. No one cares. The audience won't care.
