The Effects of Low Calorie Sweeteners on Appetite
There have been a fair number of studies looking at that, typically very, very short term. The effects are also very inconclusive. There's some evidence to suggest that consuming sweet foods or sweet tastes may result in an increased sensitivity - so sweet taste perception. If you consume a lot of sweet food, or if you stop consuming your sweet foods, you become slightly more sensitive to sweet taste. So there's a little bit of evidence for that, but yeah,. nothing we could find, nothing that would suggest that sweet taste exposure, certainly nothing that suggested it would increase intakes or increase preferences. It's more likely to go the other way.
