People have a trouble differentiating between knowing, like the surface thing, and actually knowing in a deep sense. People almost can't accept that if you say, i don't know, you get a lot of weird looks, because you're expected to know something about it. But on a dedida basis, youou can't get away with a nothing. What all that has to do with our ability or our fear of culturally?
