Are You Seeing a Drop in Religious Membership in America?
Gallop has been looking at membership of religious organizations now going back to the thirties. From 19 37, when they started up, until 19 99, it never drop below 70%. And then just really over the last 15 years or so, you've seen an increasing drop in the percentage of americans who say they actually belong to some kind of house of worship. This is more of a function of a lack of trust institutions, a lack of willingness to belong, really.
