Introduction

A woman is beaten every nine seconds in our culture. Every year nearly 5.3 incidents of intimate partner violence occur among US women 18 and older. Most of those incidents are never reported to the police. Only one in five victims with physical injuries seek professional medical solutions. This is a major problem but it's under the radar problem.
