The Marxist Position on the State
The state is the tool of whatever class is dominating at that time. Leninists believe that until that class society is transcended, the state is an inevitable thing. And if we don't take it, you know, the reactionaries, our enemies will take it and use it to crush us. The only way that you can do that on a global scale is by building up an organized state force against capital.
