Inside Health

CHAPTER

What's the Cost of Food?

I was on maternity leave, but I'm not working now because we can't afford the child care costs. It's given us a lot of freedom coming here knowing that although it doesn't feed us for the whole week, it feeds us for a good majority. Things that we wouldn't really be able to afford in the supermarket like mangoes or asparagus we've had before. They're really expensive in the supermarket. So it means that we can have a good variety here and that they're fresh whereas in the supermarket we'd get lots of tinned things or frozen fruit and veg. You just can't beat having fresh stuff. It just tastes so much nicer.
