Anxiety and Physical Sensations
Anxiety is trying to keep you safe, even if it's inappropriate or over zealous in its attempts. Your body interprets the heart rate elevation as a sign of normal cardio vascular stress and gets anxious at the spect of being anxious. Avoidance is the fuel of anxiety; when you avoid something because your anxiety tells you to, you're essentially rewarding it. So what you want to do is expose yourself to exposure situations that we call 'safe' environments.
