In the first election in 18 68 where african americans have access to the right to vote, you see the beginnings of violence designed to stop them from voting. In dozens of incidents across the south, white gangs show up to attack or intimidate black politicians and voters. There's a broader terror campaign aimed at reversing the second American revolution.
