The Law of Consecration and the World's Way of Doing
There is a perception that there was no private property under consecration in Joseph Smith's day. The law of consecration never did envision communal ownership of property, he says. In the culture we live in, as you know, private ownership can have the effect of undermining the law of consecrated if we overemphasize it for its own sake.
