The Johnson Publishing Archive: A History of Black Life

The Johnson Publishing Archive contains more than 200 boxes of business records, copies of all the magazines. There's 10,000 audio video recordings and 4.5 million negatives and prints. A consortium of five institutions ultimately came together to purchase the archive. The physical records are now going to be in the possession of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
