How to Identify an Anxiety Disorder in the Primary Care Physician?

The GAD 7 is a seven-question self-report measure of general anxiety symptoms. It can be used to screen for generalized anxiety disorder, or as a first-level screener for any anxiety disorder. The most common disorders that we see and treat in primary care include panic disorder, which can occur with or without agoraphobia. Social anxiety disorder has an early age of onset on average - it can occur even as a child.
