The Problem of Radioactive Wastes in Nuclear Reactors
We have about 70,000 metric tons of spent nuclear fuel around the us. This is spread around at 75 different operating and decommissioned nuclear plants all across the united states. There's a whole category called small modular nuclear reactors that could be used to make more nuclear power plants worldwide. The last issue with nuclear power doesn't have to do with the technology it, but with the possibility that it could be attacked, stolen or exploited by adversaries.
