The US and China's War on Taiwan
I worry sometimes that we're talking ourselves into a war with China and the Chinese are doing the same. The status quo has been really good for both of us on Taiwan, it's meant to be unresolved and ambiguous. Xi Jinping has said publicly that he would like to resolve this issue of the eventual unification of Taiwan and China in his generation. That's scary to people. She has instructed the PLA, the Chinese military, to be ready to take Taiwan by force by 2027 four years away.
