How I Deal With Rejection
I rarely show my work to anyone but the editor I'm working with because for the most part their reactions of family and loved ones aren't helpful. If it doesn't work for me then I know it won't work for my editor so that's how I do it. What is your favorite word? Probably visceral because it straddles both my worlds. It's partly medical but it's also very much in common usage.
