Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer star in the film, which is based on a true story. The gas light means that someone else is in the house so you know when he's going to come back. That's quite Hitchcockian, yeah. And I think she's very good in it. She wanted Oscar for this, didn't she? It's quite an Oscary role in her way, lettingShe does get the chance to shine and do quite a lot of stuff.
