The Death of Diana Princess of Wales

1992 is not a year on which I shall look back with undiluted pleasure. It was the Queen's most difficult week when she stayed at her Balmoral estate in Scotland, caring for young princes William and Harry. She had little time to mourn though as a major programme for her golden jubilee took her around the country. Three years later, the once unthinkable became a reality - Prince Charles married his long-term companion Camilla Parker Bowles. Her 50 years on the throne were marked in 2002.
