The City of London

London is one of those cities which for some reason refracts very, very well through fiction. And I really wanted to write a classic London novel and treat it as a character in the book. There's quite a tradition of treating London that way. It's just a fascinating city because it's a size,. the way it sprawls, it's history, the way history butts up right close to new things.
