The Back Cloth to Shakespeare's Work

The world of Shakespeare is one in which we see the Montanean idea that the boundary between humans and animals is blurred. The back cloth to Shakespeare's work is a model that sets man as fundamentally separated from nature. One of my favourite speeches in all of Shakespeare hits upon this when Hamlet tells Rosenkranz and Guildenstern that he knows not lost all his mirth.
