Some of the harshest criticism for Crashlyns work was stuff that came out one or two years after his input hypothesis in the 1980s. As a teacher, this makes real sense to me. I need to give my students lots of comprehensible inputs so they can internalize and acquire the language. And then when they're ready, they can output it.
