A bet against gold is a bet that the debt problem is going to be resolved and will improve over time. The price of gold and the debt issue relative to GDP basically move in the same direction every decade, basically. And this skepticism towards the medal recently is completely unwarranted because it is one of the few assets that is still near record levels in prices.
