Is There a Revolving Door to Unhoused People?
On average, some calculated 30% of unhoused people may struggle with some sort of mental illness. If you took the population, projected 60,000 populations, 60,000 unhoused people in New York, and you applied that 30% statistic, then you would get to the idea of 18,000 homeless people who might be mentally ill. The mayor has already been accused of sweeping issues under the rug, under the guise of some sort of good intention. It's just saying good intentions can result in terrible things.
