How to Hand Out Candy to Kids on Halloween Night

My sister was 12 and had finally gotten to the age where she thought trick-or-treating and dressing up was embarrassing. The only issue that night was my parents had forgotten to get candy so they told us to hand out whatever fruit or pretzels we had in the kitchen. I wasn't too worried about it given that not many kids lived in our area so we figured that we wouldn't have to answer the door much at all. One of the intruders pulled out a bat out from under his robe and in a low deep voice said we didn't comb for any candy.
