Law and order was the first real gig I heard it described very wisely by an old actor once the law and Order was the mothership It kept everybody employed and they gave a lot of us including myself more opportunity. You're still developing as a man when you go to Juilliard from 13 to 17. So for better or worse, you know your habits as a human are formed around your habits as an actor and the ability to To shape shift to your roles.
